All these things affect cab vent design in general and especially with MLTLs or similar.

These are (o.d.) dims.Baffle will be removable but will be one piece with the rest of cabinet glued and screwed and essentially one piece.Woofers are going to be Horizontal and at the top of cabinet just under the 511E about 3" from top of cab.
The only thing still not set is the bracing it is still evolving.I Have 2 ideas my first idea is to laminate 3 sheets of 3/4" plywood together and then cutout holes like in this pic.they will be about 3" thick from where they touch the panels to inside of cabinet. The 3 sheet sandwich will be 2.25" thick and all edges routed(rounded).I plan on 2 of them so the cab will be broken up into 3rds. with 2x3's on edge in between on panels and from top to bottom..The second is just using 2x3's front to back, top to bottom,on edge diagonally on panels. "What do you think would be best" ? I'm hoping to have them done by Nov. 1, if everything goes smoothly.

Addendum: @ GM Front Baffle will be dadoed but will be removable to tweak port,etc... But once all adjustments have been made front baffle will be screwed and glued permanently in place. Thanks !!

Re: "Crossover Design for New Project"
Everest II with its horizontally mounted woofers is "0.5", which is where my limited involvement here began. If it weren't for the measurements, we'd suspect one was not playing at all.
Here's how JBL did this project as MTM:
1990 K2-S9500 S7500
It's better if the dispersion is limited in the vertical to mitigate floor and ceiling bounce. That's what MTM does.
Our solution to augmenting a sectoral horn with a tweeter was to mount it in the horn mouth. Doesn't have to be on center. That EV wants to be vertical, so no biggie.
Yes, it's worth doing; 511 is severely beaming what VHF it plays; the tweeter is better at dispersion up there....
Re: "Crossover Design for New Project"
I picked out a veneer for my cabinets I'm going with a bird's eye tiger oak.So they match my 19's and Cornwalls. And other furniture. :D
They should be done.First week of Nov.I have also decided to sub-contract out the work so I can get them done a little faster as I would have only been able to get to them on the weekend's they would have been done sometime in the summer of 2014 :D.He's doing just the cabs & veneer work.I'll be doing all the rest. Mounting the drivers, dampening, binding posts,etc... Testing ! :)
@GM Have you had a chance to look at the port dims ? Thanks Again GM :thankU: for all your input Kind Regards ~ John
Re: "Crossover Design for New Project"
Hey Zilch Thanks for your input. :2thumbsup:
My cabs are pretty high 54" and woofers are up near the top with the 511E just above with them being off the floor and closer to middle of the room height will the bounce be as pronounced do you think ???
Addendum: Well if the testing doesn't sound right the baffle will be removable before I permanately attach it.If it doesn't sound right I could always replace baffle with a MTM design I think, Hmmm.OK guys chime in here would that be OK.
Addendum2: Now some of the sims that were done for me look like they will sound good and have plenty of Bass ! JBL just came out with a horizontal dual woof confg. in the Everest DD66000 a year or two ago.
Re: "Crossover Design for New Project"
All pieces cut now I'm just waiting for the veneer to be delivered which will be tomorrow. Then they will be veneered over the weekend. Here's a sample of what I eventually picked out(Figured White Oak).I tried to pick something to match the rest of my speakers,furniture,etc... :D :lollipop:
